It's easy to walk or drive to the beach and to La Jolla village. It's more like an air bnb than a hotel in that maid service only comes if requested and you have a kitchen. It's an older place, but that's part of the charm. My group needed 3 bedrooms, and this place was able to accommodate us. Some might even call this place charming. I might possibly stay here again next time I'm in the area. The front desk isn't open 24 hours, which is slightly annoying. Overall, we had a pleasant stay here.Posted on Google Margaret OdellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had such a lovely stay in the Wisteria Cottage! It was very clean, spacious and in a great location (walking distance to the MCASD) and the beach. A 5 star stay in my book but worth noting that this property functions more like an AirBNB than a hotel (you throw out your own trash, there isn’t turn down service, they don’t replace towels or sheets (they will for a fee), provide additional products like shampoo and conditioner after the you first check in and you clean all of your own dishes etc). I wasn’t aware of this before and booked and although it wasn’t a deal breaker for me, I thought others would like to know. Wisteria itself was lovely, I will note the curtains in the bedroom are quite sheer and it’s right next to the parking lot, as two woman traveling alone we still felt quite safe, but worth noting.Posted on Google Crazy Old LadyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Star of the Sea was perfect for me. Very small, but it had everything I needed, including a cozy garden setting outside. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The entire property is uniquely charming and feels completely removed from the surrounding hustle and bustle of La Jolla. I would gladly stay there again.Posted on Google Chris ThomasTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have been guests here since 2022. We came to celebrate our 25th anniversary and fell in love with the property. We lost our only child less than a month after our last visit in 2022. La Jolla and the cove hold special meaning to us. The visit this past weekend was less than stellar, however, the new management company rectified the issue. We highly recommend this little home away from home.Posted on Google GeoVir HazbounTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We rented a two bedroom cottage facing the street. Upon opening the gate to our cottage we saw a beautiful front yard with a water feature two, lounge chairs, a barbecue and a table with four chairs. It was beautiful. If you love old, vintage homes, you will love this place. It is beautiful. It is a short walk from the beach. With the windows open at night you can hear the waves. Standard bathroom amenities are provided, as well as water and coffee pods for one day. When we needed anything, the staff are at the front desk was very kind and helpful. What was not so wonderful was a functioning electric outlet in the tub shower combination bathroom that was actually on the tiled bathroom tub wall! Yikes! Both beds had new mattresses that were as hard as rocks. The staff at the front desk said she thought they would soften the longer they were on the bed. We love this place, and would book again, but would ask the staff which cottage had a softer bed.Posted on Google Brenda ReissTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I loved staying at the Redwood Hollow cottages. It's within walking distance to a beautiful beach and downtown for the restaurants and shopping. Prospect Cove is a delightful cottage that was perfect for me and would be great for 2 peoplePosted on Google Jeffrey RakeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Always a great experience. Perfect for our group. Would love more Keurig pods stocked for extended stays. Personally, I loved the regular coffee makers with the fresh ground locally roasted coffee in the fridge that was a staple years ago. One incident: Made a call to leave a message to extend a stay to the main number. I used my phone to look up the website, then hit the button labeled "call now" - hit the button with the phone number at it that popped up. The keypad on my phone never appeared, but the man answering the phone was rude and suggested that I did not have an emergency, and that I must have pressed the # key to indicate an emergency when there was none. I couldn't have done this. This is a glitch with your system. And even if not, there was no reason for the rude, accusatory response after I book at least 25 room nights per year with you.Posted on Google Kaitlin MonetTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We absolutely loved this little cottage! For my husband's 30th birthday we came here for the weekend with our almost 6 month old. We stayed in #242 - a studio which was perfect for us. I loved the vintage coastal charm and unique touches. It wasn't a basic hotel room or vacation rental with everything from Amazon. The bed was very comfy, they had robes, all cotton towels, and they didn't use scented laundry detergent so none of the linens gave me a headache. The kitchen was adorable with the blue appliances and was perfectly on theme. We got there about an hour before check in time and the 2 women at the front desk were so kind and let us check in early. They helped hold my baby's carseat while I was directing my husband where to park and were overall super friendly. I chose La Jolla since it's a small town and we wanted to be able to walk everywhere and not deal with crazy parking. We didn't drive anywhere once. Parked in one of the spots at the cottage, and walked everywhere we wanted to go. The location of the cottages was great because it's close enough to everything you want to do, but at night it gets quiet and there's not a ton of people around since its not right in the downtown area. My husband and I have already talked about renting one of their larger cottages with family for a longer period of time.Posted on Google Ginny TourdotTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our stay was perfect for us! Our cottage was adorable & clean - the pictures online don’t do it justice. Our bed wasn’t as comfortable as we would have liked but it wasn’t a deal breaker. It was peaceful, beautiful grounds & office staff was friendly. I gave 4 stars for service only because it’s not a hotel with a gym, concierge and all those amenities that come with hotels. We weren’t looking for a typical hotel - this is solely for the reader’s information.Redwood Hollow was exactly what I was looking for. It checked all my boxes. Thank you for setting the tone for a beautiful weekend. The neighborhood is clean & beautiful. The location is walkable to everything provided you enjoy walking. For perspective, we walked over 50k steps in 2.5 days - to the ocean, to restaurants & parks.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
